Dr. Asfahani is Head of Marine Environment Protection within the Environmental Protection Department of Saudi Aramco. Previous to joining Saudi Aramco, he worked as an executive intern with Miami-Dade County under Office of Sustainability (OOS) for one year.  He has been exposed to marine environment for over 17 years. Khaled earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marine physics from King AbdulAziz University (KAAU) and a master degree in coastal zone management from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). Recently, he obtained a PhD degree in biophysical Oceanography from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

Dr. Nawaf Blaisi

Mr. Blaisi is an assistant professor in the Environmental Engineering Department at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University and the Chairman of the department.  Dr. Blaisi has numbers of scientific Publications and great experience with solid waste management Related matters.

Graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in Env. Engineer and engineering management as part of the Saudi Aramco Sponsorship in 2017. Over 3 years of work experience in the field of process engineering, climate change, air quality control & environmental sustainability.

Mousa Alharthi

Mousa Alharthi

Treasurer

Mousa is an environmental scientist working for Saudi Aramco, Environmental Protection for two years. He has earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia in 2014. He pursued his post-graduate studies in the U.S. earning his first masters qualification in Environmental Engineering from the Catholic University of America in 2016. He then pursued another masters degree in Environmental Science from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in 2018. His research and field experience is in the area of water desalination, treatment and conservation. He is working on minimizing projects’ fresh water consumption and maximizing wastewater reuse. He works on preservation and protection of natural habitats and reducing environmental impacts of anthropogenic activities on water resources.

Nabil Hijazi

Mr. Hijazi is an Environmental Engineer with the Environmental Protection Department of Saudi Aramco. He has more than 30 years of experience in consulting, project management, and business development focused on the environmental and oil & gas sectors.  In previous employment, Nabil worked with the Alturki environmental consulting firm, AES International Consultants in the capacity of Business Development Director. Nabil has a Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, and has attended Executive MBA Programs at McGill University in Canada.

Dr. Saidur Chowdhury

Dr. Saidur Chowdhury

Technical Events Coordinator

Dr Saidur is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. Dr Chowdhury is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of Ontario in Canada. He has published scientific papers in referred journals, and international conference proceedings, as well as technical reports for different environmental consulting companies.
